Your Journey as a New Registrant at UHBW
We believe that University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Trust (UHBW) is the ideal place for you to start and grow your career.
As a new registrant you will participate in our 12 month Preceptorship Programme designed to support your transition from a student to a confident, registered professional. Our preceptorship programme at UHBW has just been re-designed and has a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing the various nursing disciplines as well as other health care professionals.
You will be assigned a Preceptor who will, along with other members of the clinical team, support you to develop and refine your knowledge and skills. You will be allocated a supernumerary period when you start with us and have protected learning time to complete the programme. This time will include self-directed study as well as five development days, covering topics such as advanced communication skills, leadership and continuous improvement A3 thinking.
In the clinical area you will also be supported by our Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs) who provide you with support to gain your clinical competencies delivering teaching at the “bedside”.
